Questions?

Do you offer pickup for CO₂ cylinders or fire extinguishers?

At this time, we do not offer pickup services. All CO₂ refills and fire extinguisher services are drop-off only at our Nepean location.

This helps us keep turnaround times fast and pricing competitive. For most CO₂ refills, drop-offs are quick and easy — and we’ll notify you as soon as your order is ready for pickup.

Thank you for supporting a local, independent business!

Why isn’t pricing listed for fire extinguisher services?

Fire extinguisher service pricing can vary depending on the type, size, condition, and required service for each unit. Some extinguishers may need a simple recharge, while others require hydrostatic testing, internal inspections, part replacements, or complete overhauls.

Because of this, we provide custom quotes after inspecting the extinguisher. This ensures you only pay for the service your unit actually needs — no guessing, no flat-rate overcharging.

Do I need to bring my own CO₂ cylinder?

Yes. We refill your existing CO₂ tank as long as it's in good condition and within its hydrostatic test date.

If you require a brand new extinguisher we also sell them.

What types of CO₂ tanks do you refill?

We refill tanks used for:

  • Draft beer systems and kegerators

  • Aquariums

  • Fountain soda setups

  • Fire extinguishers (on request)

CO₂ Extinguisher Services

How often do CO₂ fire extinguishers need to be recharged?

CO2 fire extinguishers should be inspected annually and recharged immediately after use, even if only partially discharged. A hydrostatic test is required every 5 years to ensure the cylinder’s integrity.

What is the difference between a CO₂ recharge and a hydrostatic test?

A CO2 recharge refills the extinguisher with carbon dioxide to its proper pressure level, ensuring it’s ready for use. A hydrostatic test involves pressure-testing the extinguisher to verify the cylinder’s safety and compliance with regulations.

What Is the Difference Between a CO₂ Fire Extinguisher and an ABC Fire Extinguisher?

CO₂ fire extinguishers and ABC fire extinguishers are designed for different types of fires and environments. CO₂ extinguishers are primarily used for Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (electrical fires) and work by displacing oxygen with carbon dioxide, leaving no residue behind. They are ideal for use in server rooms, offices, and areas with sensitive equipment.

ABC fire extinguishers, on the other hand, are multi-purpose and can be used for Class A (ordinary combustibles), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (electrical fires). They contain a dry chemical powder that smothers flames and prevents re-ignition, making them suitable for homes, businesses, warehouses, and general fire protection.

The key difference is that CO₂ extinguishers are clean and safe for electronics, while ABC extinguishers leave a powder residue but offer broader fire protection.

ABC Fire Extinguisher Sales & Service

How often do ABC fire extinguishers need to be serviced?

ABC dry chemical fire extinguishers require:

  • Monthly visual inspections to check pressure and physical condition.

  • Annual maintenance by a certified technician.

  • A six-year internal maintenance check.

  • A hydrostatic test every 12 years to ensure the cylinder is structurally sound.

What’s the difference between a new and a reconditioned fire extinguisher?

A new extinguisher has never been used and comes with a full manufacturer warranty. A reconditioned extinguisher is a previously used unit that has been professionally inspected, tested, and refilled to meet safety standards, offering a cost-effective alternative.

Can I recharge my own ABC fire extinguisher?

No, fire extinguisher recharging should only be done by a licensed professional using specialized equipment to ensure proper pressure levels and compliance with fire codes.
